Is it the right route?

A strong fit when ambition is matched by evidence.

01 — Fit
✓

Validated technology

The core technology has been tested beyond the laboratory and the next development steps are clear.

✓

Market-changing potential

The innovation can create a new market or significantly disrupt an existing one at European or global scale.

✓

A real financing gap

The opportunity is compelling, but its risk, capital intensity or time horizon makes private finance alone insufficient.

✓

A credible scale-up team

The company can show the leadership, capabilities and execution plan needed to turn innovation into growth.

What the programme expects

EIC Accelerator is not simply a technology grant. It asks whether the company, evidence and financing strategy form one credible scale-up case.

InnovationA defensible breakthrough with clear differentiation and validated performance.
MarketA specific customer problem, credible demand signals and a route to adoption.
ImpactA convincing case for European value, growth and wider economic or societal outcomes.
ExecutionA realistic work plan, capable team, clear risks and a coherent funding ask.
Application pathway & deadlines

A clear case at every stage.

Evaluation & common weak points

How the application is evaluated.

03 — Evaluation

The assessment becomes progressively more detailed. The short proposal is reviewed by four EIC experts. The full proposal combines a technology expert assessment, an independent evaluation panel and, for selected applicants, a jury interview.

Excellence

Breakthrough and deep-tech nature, completed TRL 5 and a credible intellectual-property strategy.

Impact

Market opportunity, business model, European impact and—where relevant—Challenge alignment.

Risk, implementation & EU support

Team capability, risk management, work plan, financing gap and the EIC’s ability to catalyse further investment.

Why strong ideas still receive a NO GO.

  • The innovation is presented as incremental rather than genuinely breakthrough.
  • Claims about TRL, performance or IP are not supported by convincing evidence.
  • The market case is generic, with weak customer validation or unrealistic projections.
  • Technology, market, work plan and financing ask do not form one coherent scale-up strategy.
  • Team gaps, risks or the need for EIC support are acknowledged but not credibly addressed.
How Mira Funding works

Four phases for a stronger Accelerator case.

Assess the fit

Test eligibility, TRL, programme route, financing need and application readiness before investing in the proposal.

Build the evidence

Identify gaps across technology, IP, market, business model, team and financial assumptions, then organise the inputs needed to close them.

Craft the proposal

Shape one evaluator-ready narrative across the short proposal, full proposal, annexes and pitch materials.

Submit with confidence

Run final consistency checks and, when applicable, prepare the team to defend the case at interview.
